ABOUT

My name is Christopher Magelitz, founder and goldsmith of Magelitz Goldsmithing. My career in fine jewelry began at the age of 17 in my hometown of Virden, Illinois, where I developed an early appreciation for craftsmanship, precision, and personal service while working in a local jewelry store.

What started with fundamental bench work and repair quickly grew into a lasting passion for the art and production of jewelry. I pursued formal training at Gem City College in Quincy, Illinois, graduating in Diamond Setting and Jewelry Design. This foundation led to hands-on bench experience in fine jewelry repair and custom design, where I deepened my understanding of both traditional techniques and the importance of meticulous attention to detail.

Today, Magelitz Goldsmithing is built on a commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, transparency, and trust. Every piece is handled directly by me, ensuring a highly personal experience and a standard of care that reflects the sentimental and lasting value of fine jewelry. Whether restoring a family heirloom or creating something new, my goal is to deliver work of enduring quality with honest guidance and uncompromising attention to detail.
